Top Posts of 2018

Another year has come and gone. For pastorronbrooks.com it has been a good year. I started this site in the fall of 2012, and it has grown year after year, and this year is no exception.  I am honored that you would take your time to read through my thoughts and writing.  I pray that something you read will be of benefit to you.

It’s that time of year to share with you some of the most read articles.

Here are the top 5 posts of the year:

#1  Lesson on Lying

It’s not the first time this lesson has been on the top of the list at the end of the year. There is a good chance you have seen it before, but if not you should check it out.  I think it is popular because lying is something many parents deal with. If that is something you are dealing with, this lesson

#2  Why I will not teach the Christmas Story again

This one surprised me. I posted the article in a few Facebook groups and didn’t think anything more of it. Until I noticed it being shared over and over. Then the views started rising. That was largely due to the fact that Ken Ham of the Creation Museum read and shared this post.

The basic idea of the article is that we should be careful with the terminology we use when teaching our kids. I sometimes wonder if we send the wrong message by teaching ‘Bible stories’ rather than the accounts of the Bible.  If you haven’t read it, I think you should, and let me know what you think.

#3 Teaching kids about Baptism

Baptism is a very important milestone in our Christian faith. “Is my child ready to be baptised?” “How will I know they are ready to be baptised?”  “How do I teach my kids what baptism is?”  All of these questions are explored through the article. If you or someone you know are interested in being baptised, this could help.

Honorable mentions

These next articles didn’t make the top 3, but were still among the top read articles.

Make a Glow Jar

Even though this was published a few years ago, it continues to be among the top read articles on the site. It was even published as an activity in the Church of God girls curriculum!  If you are looking for a fun activity that talks about Jesus being the Light of the World, you should check it out.

10 Skits on the 10 Commandments

This is a great series that was done as guest posts from a friend in Children’s Ministry. If you are studying the 10 Commandments, this is something you will want to check out.

Put others first

This is a great activity when you want to help your little ones learn about sharing.

There were a lot more that could have been added to the list. Hit the categories at the top of the page and look around to see some of the others.

Another year has come and gone. Leave a comment and let me know which article you enjoyed the most. Or let me know what kind of article or resource you are looking for and I’ll see what I can do.

Thanks for reading, and I pray 2019 is your best year yet. Let me know if I can do anything for you this year.
