Fruit of the Spirit: Self Control

Galatians 5:22-23

Today’s Focus comes from Proverbs 25:28.

Do you remember the lack of self control of Adam and Eve. (If not, now is a good time to read it- Genesis chapter 3)  God had given them everything they could ever need or want, and they still chose to take the fruit God told them not to.
Having self control is not always easy.  The devil tricked Eve into eating the fruit.  He also will try to trick you.  You have to stay strong to make the right choice, even when it is not the easy choice.  That is having self control.Got Fruit selfcontrol

Look again at Proverbs 25:28. What do you think that means?

Questions:

  • What is self control?
  • Why is self control important?
  • Who is responsible for your actions?
  • How can you demonstrate self control?
