When I read the bible, I don’t have a favorite translation. I often will read several different translations and compare them, which often helps me to understand. Not too long ago I had a chance to take a look at a brand new translation just for kids (check it out here) which was written to help children understand what they read. There are lots of versions that our kids can use, but I think we can all agree that a translation written with kids in mind might be a very good option for them.
I often take it for granted that I can open my bible app and read any number of translations. I guess my point it, I have a lot of options when it comes to my bible. It is hard for me to imagine not having all those choices. As strange as it sounds, it is hard to imagine a world where I only had a single translation to use. Even stranger to think about—- there are places in the world that do not even have a translation to help them understand God’s word.
I think it can benefit the people of a certain culture if they have a bible translation that is written just for them.
I am happy to introduce you to the African Study Bible, a brand new translation written especially for the people of Africa.
Watch the video interviewing African Pastors on how beneficial this new bible will be.
A translation like this does not come free. There is a cost involved. Join the African Study Bible Kickstarter Launch to help make sure this new bible gets into the hands of the African people that need it.
We sometimes forget how fortunate we are to be able to pick up a bible that we can read and understand, one that God can use to speak to us. The people of Africa deserve the same. Take a moment and head over to Kickstarter. Even a few dollars will help— you can make a difference in someone’s life half a world away. God will bless you through your generosity.
