No matter how many coupon codes you use, running a kid’s ministry can be expensive. More than likely your largest investment will be the curriculum you use. Over the years I have used quite a few different resources, both paid and free.
Rather than you spending a ton of time surfing around looking for free lessons, I have put together a list of several places to find free kids ministry curriculum.
Free Kids Ministry Curriculum:
#1 Ministry to Children is a great resource. You can find lots of individual lessons, object lessons, activities and more. Everything on the site is free. I have found some great mini lessons here to supplement my lessons. Check it out!

#2 Elevation Church
It’s been a while, but I have used resources from Elevation Church in the past. Follow the link below for lots of free lessons and series. Please note—you will need to make an account, but there is no charge.

#3 Children’s Ministry Deals
You may have heard of Children’s Ministry Deals—they have lots of great series that they sell, but if you watch, you can often score a series or sample lessons for free! Use either or both of the links below to check them out.

#4 Orange: 252 Basics
If you have never used 252 Basics, from the people at Orange and the ReThink group, you can try a month for free. (Check out some of my thoughts on Orange here). They also have preschool materials available as well.

#5 Messages from Monsters
I have used my share of free curriculum, I have bought curriculum, and more often than not, I have written my own lessons. Because I enjoy a good free kids ministry lesson series, I have made one of my most popular series available to you for free. Messages from Monsters is a 4 week series based on the Disney movie Monsters Inc.
#6 Others
I have looked through my past notes to come up with many of the resources here. While writing this list, I did research a little more, and came up with a few other sites that offer free kids ministry curriculum. While I haven’t used them, they look worth the time to investigate.

Hopefully this list will help. I can imagine your resources are limited, so finding free kids ministry lessons is often a high priority. Use this list to save time (and money!).
Do you know of other places to find free kids ministry curriculum? What do you look for when you choose a curriculum? What kind of curriculum do you use? Leave a comment and let us know!
If you don’t mind spending some money, here are a few great sites (In some way, shape or form, I have used all of the below)
Billy Graham : Greatest Journey
The Finding Story: Based on the movie Finding Nemo
I have not received any form of compensation for including resources on this list. While I have personally used resources from several of the above sites, I have not used them all, nor should you consider in an endorsement that I included it on the list. Even if I have not used it, I would consider using them in the future. Keep in mind, as with any resource you use, some modification may be necessary to better fit your needs.
Try fishersofkids.com
Completely free curriculum. Great use of puppets and skits. We have made several videos if the skits in the 10 commandments lessons as well as the fruits of the spirit lessons.
ResourceWell.org has a free 3-year curriculum for ages 2-14.
Thanks for sharing Bethany! I’ll check it out.
Open.life church – amazing free curriculum I have been using their elementary curriculum called Konnect station for over three years and have not paid a dime. There is a 20 minute video with every lesson that includes a Bible story and a Bible verse and there are support activities including discussion questions and crafts. My kids absolutely love the videos, they are very connected to the characters and are thrilled when we show it. I know some churches aren’t really pro video, but the biggest benefit is that even if my leaders show up unprepared after watching the video with the kids we are all ready for the lesson
Thanks for sharing this great youth ministry article! This is a great list of resources for me to use in my Sunday School, and I can imagine other churches would really benefit from this
All the curriculum’s on https://lessons.church/ are great they are set apart by having a free app that delivers the lesson to the teacher’s phone and to the classroom’s screen. It is all donor-funded so there is no cost to the church.
