Nothing Else but Pizza Commandment # 2
Special thanks to Wesley Edie, Family Life Pastor at Parklawn Assembly of God for sharing his 10 Commandments skit series with us.
Leader: Hey kids! Today we have another exciting commandment to memorize. In fact, as we look…
Maggie: Oh ya baby! I can’t wait! It’s a good day. No, actually it’s a great day. Not just good but great! Oh ya!
Leader: Well hello there Crazy Maggie. What is the interruption all about?
Maggie: It’s an importantly crazy good interruption…because I was thinking about the most important thing in the WWW.
Leader: You mean the internet?
Maggie: No, silly. The most important thing in the whole wide world, get it?
Leader: Oh, okay. Well, that’s really great Maggie cause that’s what are lesson is about today.
Maggie: No! Really???? (In wonder)
Leader: Yep! It is! We are talking about not having any…
Maggie: Anything else except pizza? Cause ya know, pizza is the most important thing in the WWW (whole wide world).
Leader: No, no no! Maggie, we’re not talking about pizza!
Maggie: SOOOO…we are noooot talking about pizza?
Leader: Well Maggie, I think maybe we can talk about pizza.
Maggie: Yes! I knew it!
Leader: Maybe the topic could be about you making pizza an idol.
Maggie: Are you saying I am going to make pizza sing? Like on American Idol? Very confused right now…
Leader: No, no, no, Maggie. I think that maybe you have put more importance on pizza today than you have God. When you do that, it’s a lot like bowing down to an idol, a graven image, something made by hands, that you make number one in your life.
Maggie: Like American Idol?
Leader: An idol is an image, person, statue, or thing that people treat as God. They put that idol number one in their life. The Bible tells us that’s sin.
Maggie: So I can’t eat pizza? That’s a sin?
Leader: No Mag. You can eat pizza. I like pizza too. Just don’t put it above God, or anything above God in your life. We are to worship Him only.
Maggie: So I can eat pizza, just not be excited about pizza?
Leader: That’s a good question Mag. You can be excited about pizza. Just make sure that God is number one and that you are the most excited about Him each day and focus on what He is doing in your life.
Maggie: Ok. Do you want some pizza? (Pulls out a pizza box)
Leader: Sure, I’d really enjoy some.
Maggie: Here you go. (empty pizza box)
Leader: Um Maggie…that’s kind of gross! Oh, yuck!
Maggie: What?
Leader: Were you the one that ate all the toppings off of every single piece of pizza!
Maggie: Yum, yum! My favorite part!
Leader: Mag, I don’t think I will enjoy this pizza…thanks anyway.
Maggie: Your loss. Ha, ha, yum, yum pizza! (goes down with the pizza) Chomp, chomp, chomp!
